Promoting Accessibility, Health and Inclusion for People of All Abilities

Company Founder:  Rick watters

Enable Wellness was founded by Rick Watters to utilize his business and life experiences to provide solutions that promote active living through inclusive initiatives.

At the age of 16, Rick broke his neck in a diving accident, which left him partially paralyzed from the shoulders down. Following his spinal cord injury, Rick went through a year of intensive physiotherapy to regain as much function as possible and has been leading a very active lifestyle ever since.

Rick has a B.A. in Psychology from York University and over 25 years of experience in the corporate business world, including 15 years as a small business owner in the manufacturing sector.  Rick has shared his professional business experience through volunteer Board of Directors positions for the Disabled Sailing Association of Ontario as President and Commodore and remains active in developing para-sport programs to this day.

Rick is an avid sailor, having competed on the Ontario Sailing team as a Quest for Gold athlete in the 2-person SKUD-18 Paralympic class.  Rick continues to compete on the local sailing circuit to this day; participating in Wednesday Night Racing at the Whitby Yatch Club and Thursday Night Racing at the Queens Quay Disabled Sailing Program (Toronto).

"There's no feeling like leaving my wheelchair at the dock while I enjoy some time on the water." My favorite Quote ...

"I'd rather be sailing!"
